Initial Appointments

Initial appointments are required for all new clients and include a detailed history review, comprehensive assessment, hands-on treatment, and a personalised management plan. Appointments are 60 minutes for adults and pre/postnatal clients, and 45 minutes for children aged 5–17.

Return Appointments

Return appointments are designed to support your ongoing care and can be tailored to your specific needs.

Standard Return - A 45 minute session which includes a review of your management plan, reassessment, hands-on treatment, and movement therapy. Return sessions for children are 30 minutes.

Return Extended - A 60 minute session suitable for more complex concerns, multiple areas of pain, or if it has been some time since your last appointment.

Head, Neck and Facial Return - A specialised 45 minute targeted treatment for the head, neck and jaw, incorporating lymphatic drainage facial techniques — ideal for relieving upper body tension, sinus issues, and chronic headaches.

Movement Therapy/Rehabilitation Return - A 45 minute guided exercise session to support recovery, long-term management, and help people who find it difficult to stay consistent with exercises independently.

 Frequently Asked Questions

Before, During & After Your Appointment

  • You will need to complete the online History Form that is attached in your confirmation of booking email, and send any relevant imaging, referrals and results to movefreelyosteopathy@gmail.com at least 24 hours before your appointment.

If you are unable to complete the history form online, please arrive 15 minutes early to complete it in the waiting room.

  • Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing is ideal. Stretchy or active wear works well, as I may include gentle movement or exercise as part of your session.

  • In most cases, treatment can be provided while you remain fully clothed. If direct skin contact is needed for certain techniques, you may be asked to adjust or remove a layer of clothing, but you will always be appropriately draped. Your comfort and privacy are always the top priority.

  • Osteopathic techniques are designed to work with your body. Some approaches may feel slightly uncomfortable if an area is already sensitive or inflamed, while others can feel gentle and deeply relaxing. Throughout your session, I will check in with you and adapt techniques to ensure your comfort and support what is best for your body.

  • Yes — mild soreness, stiffness, or fatigue for 24–72 hours afterwards is common, as your body is adjusting. This should ease after a few days, and most people then feel improvement in movement and pain levels.

  • This depends on your condition, goals, and how your body responds. Some people feel improvement after one or two sessions, while others benefit from a longer-term plan. At your initial appointment, I’ll outline a tailored recommendation for you.

  • A minimum of 24 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This allows time to offer the appointment time to someone else.

Please notify me by email, phone (including voicemail), or text. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, will incur the full appointment fee.

Please note that Medicare and private health rebates cannot be claimed for late cancellations or no-shows.

  • No — a referral is not needed. You can book directly as a new client. However, referrals are welcome if your GP or other health professional would like to share relevant information, or you have a GPCCMP.

  • A GPCCMP allows you to claim a Medicare rebate for up to five allied health sessions per calendar year. These sessions can be shared between different allied health practitioners and must be specifically addressed to the practitioner you are seeing.

The current Medicare rebate is $61.80 per session, and you are responsible for covering any gap payment.

  • Your GP will determine eligibility. Medicare requires that you have at least one medical condition that has been (or is likely to be) present for at least 6 months, or is terminal.

  • Yes — if you have extras cover for Osteopathy, you can claim your rebate on the spot and simply pay the gap fee. Alternatively, if your fund isn’t available for on-the-spot claiming, you can pay in full and then submit your receipt directly to your health fund for reimbursement.

  • No — you can only claim one type of rebate per appointment. If you have both private health insurance and a GPCCMP, you can choose which rebate you’d prefer to use for each visit.

  • Unfortunately no.

If you have a GPCCMP, payment for your appointment is made in full and the Medicare rebate is processed directly afterwards.

If you have private health insurance, your rebate will be processed first (if fund is available for on-the-spot claiming) and you will then be required to pay the gap fee. The exact amount will depend on your level of health fund coverage.

Please note that rebates cannot be claimed for late cancellations or missed appointments.

  • No — not at this stage unfortunately.
